Madrid, May 7th, 2024. Procircular was the first entity to receive authorization to operate as a multi-material and multi-packaging Extended Producer Responsibility Collective System (PRO) in Spain, managing domestic, commercial and industrial packaging throughout the country, regardless of where the waste is generated.
With this authorization, Procircular offers a high value-added service that will lead to a simplification of procedures for all its customers, who will be able to comply with all legal requirements through a single interlocutor.
Procircular’s commitment is to develop solutions adapted to different customers and sectors, as well as a management model that covers the entire life cycle of packaging, from eco-design to final recycling. In this way, it hopes to be able to accompany and advise companies from the beginning of packaging design to make them more recyclable and sustainable, which will improve efficiency in the subsequent collection, sorting and recycling processes.
Innovate and improve
“We enter the market to recover materials that are being recycled in other countries and, thus, facilitate producers’ access to quality recycled material, exploring new opportunities for improvement and innovation” says Carmen Sánchez, president of Procircular’s Board “We believe that there are materials that are being wasted, which makes no environmental or economic sense” she adds, so “from Procircular we believe it is necessary to continue working to get more recycled material of high quality and greater availability to promote a modern circular economy”.
