In a recent document, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation calls for the introduction and consistent, international application of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) models.

The document is supported by a large number of renowned companies along the entire value chain of the packaging market.

As Reclay Group, we also expressly endorse the content of the publication. We are convinced that EPR models are a necessary and indispensable means to build a functioning and enforceable circular economy.

Market participants who put packaging into circulation should be responsible for returning this packaging to a cycle, at least financially.

Experience shows that the introduction of contribution-funded and mandatory EPR models is the only proven way to make good use of recycling processes and thus reduce or avoid excessive pollution of our environment.

To this end, we must work together to avoid dispensable packaging, optimize existing packaging in terms of its recyclability and keep the packaging put into circulation in the cycle.

In addition to their importance in the fight against environmental pollution, significant EPR models also bring important advantages to manufacturing companies, among other things, because they promote the development of innovative and recycling-friendly packaging and ensure greater market transparency.

Together with our partners, as pioneers in our industry, we are committed to an international awareness of mandatory and contribution-funded EPR models.
